This is where it all starts.
Once the frame is set, I install the three-piece slate and make sure each section is perfectly aligned and level.
From there, I use Bondo (auto body filler) to adhere the slate seams together, turning three separate pieces into one solid, seamless playing surface.
No movement, no gaps, no future shifting- just a flat, true field that stays that way.
Only after the slate is locked in and dead level. does the cloth go on.
